If you were with us at the Soiree Finale last week, thank you. Thank you for standing in the studio, for the questions about a painting's second life on someone's wall, for the toast, for staying past when you meant to leave.

This summer took a different shape.

I stepped back from workshops after May; no scheduled classes, no set curriculum; and gave the season to something quieter. Unwinding. Experimenting. Letting the studio be a place to explore again instead of a place to perform.

New color field work came out of that space. So did a return to community here in town — evenings that had nothing to do with sales or shows, just people and paint and conversation.

That quiet had a purpose. September brings a run of solo shows to New York, and the work happening this summer — loose, exploratory, a little rebellious — is what's walking into those rooms with me.

Before the fall picks up, one thing is closing.

The Summer Studio Sale wraps officially over Labor Day weekend, with paintings offered at 25% - 50% off studio pricing. It's been a season of finding wonderful homes for these pieces, and there's still work here waiting for the right wall or for yourself, a gift, a project.
